Sharon J. Derry is professor of Educational Psychology at UW-Madison.
Her research explores the application of cognitive science theories to problems in education and training. Her expertise includes cognitive-theoretical approaches to the study of human problem solving, including collaborative problem solving.
Derry manages several curriculum and instructional technology projects that focus on individual and collaborative problem solving, critical thinking, literacy, and basic mathematics. Derry also studies collaborative processes within interdisciplinary research and management teams.
